Neologismos e necrologismos terminológicos na linguagem jurídica brasileira: o caso dos termos referentes à separação conjugal

Abstract

This paper focuses on three types of terminological evolution: i) the semantic-conceptual evolution of terms; ii) terminological neology; and iii) terminological necrology. In this sense, the contribution aims to study these phenomena within the context of Brazilian law, specifically regarding the topic of marital separation. In addition to identifying the terms that were created and became obsolete between 1890 and 2010, according to the legislative texts that make up this study corpus, this paper classifies them according to the type of neology under which these terminological units were created, observing the reasons behind their formation and the sociocultural and historical aspects underlying them.
